Group Classes

Group Classes are a great opportunity for you to develop a cooperative relationship with your dog.  We use innovative, reward-based techniques, focusing on real-life situations to set you and your dog up for a lifetime of success.

Class Descriptions

Mod.Dog Fundamentals – $120/6 weeks of instruction 

This 6-session, open-enrollment class will start you on the road to establishing a healthy, long-lasting relationship using the most innovative reward-based training techniques. With weekly themed activities based on real-life situations, we’ll focus on reinforcing the behaviors we want.  Skills will include relaxing comfortably on place/mat, polite greetings/anti-jumping, leash manners, name response and basic cues such as sit, down, wait, leave it, etc. We’ll also introduce fun and low-cost enrichment ideas to keep your dog happy and stimulated throughout his lifetime.

Each class lasts approximately 45 minutes. Participants must have completed Orientation prior to the start of class. To complete the registration process, a copy of your dog’s vaccination records is required.  Please see our complete list of policies to ensure group class is right for you.

Wednesdays, 7:00-7:45 p.m. 

Saturdays, 11:00-11:45 a.m.

Puppy Start Right Preschool  – $100/4 weeks of instruction

Early puppyhood is a critical time for socialization and learning. Puppy class is the single most important thing you can do to help your puppy reach his full potential! Experiences during this time set the stage for the rest of your puppy’s life. All household members involved in the daily activity of the puppy are encouraged to attend.

This is an open enrollment course.  Each class lasts approximately 1 hour. This series includes a one-hour orientation (without puppies) and four one-hour puppy socialization classes. Puppies should be between 7 and 12 weeks of age when starting class (must be started on their vaccination series at least 7 days prior to starting class).

Puppy Kindergarten – $120/6 weeks of instruction

This class will focus on the skills every puppy needs to be a well behaved adult dog. We’ll focus on impulse control, listening skills and how to deal with common puppy behaviors like nipping/mouthing, chewing, digging, and jumping up. Cues taught include name/attention, sit, down, stay, walking on leash, recall and greeting people and dogs politely. Students will have the opportunity earn the AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy title on their 6th week of class.

This is a 6-week open enrollment course. Puppies must be between 13-20 weeks old to participate in this class.  Participants are required to complete Behavior & Training 101 Orientation prior to the start of class.  To complete the registration process, a copy of your dog’s vaccination records is required.  Please see our complete list of policies to ensure group class is right for you.

Mod.Dog Dynamics – $120/6 weeks of instruction

This is a 6-week course that will build on the skills introduced in our Mod.Dog Fundamentals course.  This class will focus on adding distance, duration and distraction to fundamental skills such as sit, down, stay, matwork, coming when called and polite leash walking. To be eligible for this course participants must have graduated our Fundamentals course, private coaching, or with instructor permission if an equivalent course was completed 

Class Schedule: 

Tuesdays @ 4:00 p.m., January 14 – Feb 18 (dates are subject to change – minimum enrollment must be met before class can begin).

Beginner Tricks! – $120/6 weeks of instruction

This is a 6-week specialty course that is sure to be fun for you and your dog. Tricks are a great way to provide mental exercise for your dog and have fun at the same time. This course is an excellent overview learning simple tricks, and how to apply a variety of training principles to expand basic tricks into more complex ones.  Students will have an opportunity to earn their Novice and/or Intermediate Tricks title during week 6 of class. To be eligible for this course participants must have graduated our Fundamentals course or with instructor permission if an equivalent course was completed elsewhere.

Polite Leash Walking – $100/4 weeks of instruction

If you’re struggling with a dog that pulls, is highly distracted and generally lacks connection with you on walks, this is the class for you! In this 4-week specialty course, we’ll focus on leash mechanics, walking by your side, focus on you, ignoring distractions, and other valuable skills.

To be eligible for this course participants must have graduated our Fundamentals course or with instructor permission if an equivalent course was completed elsewhere.

Class Schedule: Saturdays @ 2:30 p.m. January 11 – February 1, 2020 (dates are subject to change – minimum enrollment must be met before class can begin).

Reliable Recall – $100/4 weeks of instruction

Recall is one of the most important skills a dog can have, but training it often eludes owners. This 4-week specialty course will focus on working with your dog to come when you call, every time, and have fun doing it! To be eligible for this course participants must have graduated our Fundamentals course or with instructor permission if an equivalent course was completed elsewhere.

Class Schedule: Saturdays @ 2:30 p.m., February 8 – February 29, 2020 (dates are subject to change – minimum enrollment must be met before class can begin).
