We have a variety of private training options available to help you build a better relationship with your dog. We offer private coaching, day training, and board and train. Contact us today to find out more!
Our Training Philosophy
Mod.Dogs uses humane, science-based training methods for socialization and training. Research on animal behavior shows that training is most effective when dogs are rewarded for the correct behavior, when undesirable behavior is redirected into something more productive, and when underlying emotional issues and environmental factors are addressed. We never use fear, force, or compulsion-based methods in our training – because we don’t need to and training should be fun for you and your dog!
How it Works
If you’re interested in any of the private training options listed below, please give us a call, email us, or fill out this contact form. We’ll ask you some questions to determine if we’re the best resource for you. If we are, then we’ll email you a questionnaire to gather more information and schedule an initial consultation to meet your dog, discuss your goals, and develop an individualized training plan.
This option is ideal if you want more personalized instruction, wish to work on specific skills, or if your dog isn’t quite ready for group class yet. We meet with you for an initial consultation, then develop an individualized training plan and work with you and your dog to meet your training goals. Coaching is available in 4- 6- or 8- session packages for purchase after your initial consultation. At the end of each session, you receive homework assignments designed to help you build a collaborative relationship with your dog. You’ll benefit from one-on-one instruction from the Columbia-Pacific Region’s only Certified Professional Dog Trainer – Knowledge Assessed.
Want your dog trained but don’t have time? No problem. Mod.Dogs will come to your house to train your dog while you’re at work. This is a great option for new puppy owners, because it provides a needed potty break along with training and socialization. Includes weekly transfer sessions with you to show off your dog’s new skills and how to maintain them. Day training is usually scheduled a minimum of 3 times per week, but can be adjusted to suit your schedule. To be eligible for day training your dog must be currently enrolled in or recently graduated from one of our group training classes (Mod.Puppy Basics, Mod.Dog Fundamentals), Private Coaching, or have completed our initial assessment process.
Bay Breeze Day Care + Mod.Dogs Day Training
Is your dog enrolled in Day Care with Bay Breeze Boarding & Grooming? Our exclusive day training partnership offers exclusive 1-on-1 training while your dog is at day care. We’ll pick your puppy or dog up, provide training and socialization tailored to your needs, and meet with you at the end of the week to transfer what your dog has learned/teach you how to keep behaviors strong. To be eligible you must have had an initial consultation or completed at least one Mod.Dogs Group Class.
Board & Train with Bay Breeze
Going away for a weekend, week, or extended vacation? Our exclusive Board & Train Partnership with Bay Breeze Boarding & Grooming provides you with peace of mind while you’re away. Not only is your dog safe and sound at the kennel, he’s also receiving quality training and mental stimulation while you’re way. This is a great option for new puppies and adult dogs who need a behavior “brush up.” It’s not doggy boot camp, because we use gentle, scientifically proven methods based on animal learning theory. Your pup will have fun while learning, as well as develop good social skills and public behavior. After his stay, we’ll show you everything he learned and send you home with a better behaved dog and user instructions. To be eligible you must have had an initial consultation or completed at least one Mod.Dogs Group Class.
